What does this mean when I replace my windscreen?

Most ADAS technologies rely on sensors and cameras mounted inside the windscreen as this is the highest forward facing point on the vehicle.

After a windscreen replacement, re-calibration of ADAS will be recommended. As little a 1degree misalignment (only detectable by specialized equipment) could result in the system miscalculating braking distances with catastrophic consequences.

This all means that based on the vehicle and manufacturer either a dynamic (also known as mobile) or static calibration could be required.

In Addition to having qualified staff, Instant Windscreens has invested in mobile handheld diagnostic tools that can determine any faults prior to or after working on a vehicle. This technology will eliminate any questionable claims of existing faults prior to work starting, but will also provide comfort that all systems are fully functional after the completion of the work. This is just part of the Instant Windscreens total commitment to providing a quality service which is safe and provide the best information to the customer.

Do I need to Calibrate my Screen at Other Times?

Note: Always check your vehicle user manual about recommendations for regular servicing and other factors which may impact use of ADAS functionality as incidents affecting suspension, wheel alignment and tyres could also impact on the reliability of the ADAS technology.
